Christmas Gifts for Less

Filed under: Smart Spending by Chelsea

I may have been way behind for Halloween this year, but I’m totally on top of things for Christmas! I already have most of my presents bought, and got some great deals. Here’s what my niece and nephews are getting this year:

Target Toys

Target has the Playskool Explore N Grow Step Start Walk N Ride on sale for $17.97. There’s a $5 manufacturer coupon here (click “Toys & Games” in the left-hand nav, then you have to browse through a few pages), which brought the total to $12.97. If you have a Fred Meyer near you, I think they actually have this item on sale for $10.99, which would bring your total to only $5.99 with coupon. I picked up the following stocking stuffers from the $1 department that they have at the front of each Target store: RoseArt Fun Dough stack pack, Disney Princesses dry erase board, and Disney Princesses lip balm (my 4-year old niece loves her mom’s lipstick, so this should make her happy!).

Toys R Us Toys Christmas Sale

Toys R Us is having a huge sale on board games until tomorrow (11/14) with games as low as $4. Buy $25 worth of Hasbro games and you’ll automatically get a $10 gift card that’s valid through 12/31/09. AND Hasbro has a $2-$3 mail-in rebate on select games. I got all the above games for $4 each (except Connect 4, which was $7) for a total of $26.

$26 for five games minus $10 gift card minus $11 in rebates = $1 per game. Nice.

On a side note. . . is it just me, or is that enthusiastic-looking Candy Land guy just a little bit creepy?

The problem with having presents early is you have to hide them. Gift Ideas
