The Boppy Newborn Lounger On-the-Go

| | Updated:

We're getting out and about and on-the-go with baby again, and it feels good. One thing that's been a huge help for us lately is the new Boppy Newborn Lounger.

How we Use the Boppy Newborn Lounger

Things seem right with the world when we have days like this.

On the go with baby? Here's what you need for a quick day at the park

Lazy days spent under trees, wiggling our toes in the dirt, watching the big boys slide and jump and swing.

My sister comes to town and we load up the kids, drive through In N Out and head to a park.

I often babywear, but sometimes I just want to stretch out and bask in the sun with baby plopped beside me. I use travel cribs for big outings when I need somewhere for Minion to sleep. But if I'm on-the-go with baby and want to give him the chance to wiggle around a bit more, I grab the Boppy Newborn Lounger. We've been working with the lately and I am obsessed with their soft, easy-to-bring-along little cushion for my baby.

We've used the traditional Boppy for feedings at home since our first baby was born. The curved pillow wraps around my belly to offer support while I'm nursing, saving my back. The Boppy Newborn Lounger is similar, but it has a solid base to support baby's bottom so you can toss it anywhere and have a cozy place for him or her to sit.

Soft Support

I love that his neck is supported, so he's not doing that awkward helpless-staring-up-at-the-ceiling thing that babies often do when you lay them flat on the floor or on a blanket. I don't really like laying stiff on my back, so I assume they don't either!

Ease of Cleaning

The fabric is wipeable, so I can take the Boppy Newborn Lounger along on our adventures without stressing over how I'll clean it.

Totally Portable

And it gets mega bonus points for being super-light and having a carrying handle, so I can easily hang it from the stroller cup holder to give myself another free hand. It's intended for babies up to five months old and 16 pounds or smaller. At almost four months, Minion is pushing that limit already. He is by FAR the chunkiest baby I have ever seen in-person, probably because of his around-the-clock nursing sessions that have happened every two hours since birth.

True story.

All the more reason for me to have an easy place to plop him like this Boppy Newborn Lounger…since I'm inevitably going to be picking him up again any moment!
